Say you’ve just conned a bunch of your friends into helping you paint and want to thank them for spending their Saturday doing something they would rather have hit themselves in the head with a hammer. Take all the extra stuff you have left over from the paint job and make the table out of it. OK maybe have it the Saturday after you’ve painted and give the tarp a chance to dry…. And maybe style it up a bit. But still, there’s a way to make paint trays, tarps, paint brushes and paint can lids all work for a table your former friends will never forget.
When it came to deciding what to serve I had the perfect food. Barbecue ribs. I’m known to turn down or request something different when going to outdoor barbecues not because I’m any kind of food snob. Far from it. It’s just that with a goatee and moustache more sauce ends up in my facial hair than in my mouth. For me they’re just too much work for too little meat. (stop right there). More often than not the table ends up looking more like a crime scene. The painting party theme makes the splatters that come with barbecue right at home.
Peel the label off an old paint can, weight it with sand, attach wires to some cheap paint brushes and there you have it!
